kites by robert trepanier
junction, tx (memorial day weekend, 1997?)
For ten years the Junction International Kitemaking Retreat was perhaps the most famous of kitemaking retreats. As much a social gathering as a kitemaking weekend, Junction was a chance to hang out with really creative folks. (While inner-tubing the South Llano River, Robert amused a group of us by turning into an otter on one of the shallow rapids.)

(It's Row-bear' Trep-an-yay'. You can really torque him off by calling him Rob'-ert Tre-pan'-yer, preferably with a hick accent. So don't.)

Robert's creations range from a few inches tall up to 20 feet or more. These are 1 to 2 feet tall.
