I grew up in Northeast Indiana, where there are many small lakes. With lakes you get vacation homes. Vacation homes need furniture. Not good furniture of course. No way do you want your kids and their beach-covered, water-dripping friends to be bouncing on a multi-thousand dollar sofa. Nope, you bring in the ugly couch, the one from the late 60's and early 70's that your inlaws gave you as a wedding gift. You know, the kind of furniture scavengers remove late at night from the front of your house after you've put it out for the trash man.
