beach troll

Alfonse certainly had a vicious Troll-like appearance, and could probably have managed to scare a few passers-by into paying toll, but there was that size thing. And, yeah, being dead didn't help either. Posted by Picasa

A bamboo kite frame I built in Dan Kurahashi's Odd-Shape Japanese-Style Kite class.
Oh, the poster? One of the folks brought in old sales posters from her lingerie shop. For use as work mats. To keep the tables clean. Nothing prurient here. Honest.

summer storm
junction, tx (1995?)
In honor of the 23rd Fort Worden Kitemakers Conference, which starts tomorrow.
Summer Storm is some 20 years old. It was the first time I made more than one of a given design: another kitemaker suggested a swap for one of his kites, and I thought "What the hey?"

this sucker's been heavily edited to remove old-photo debris, lens flares, scanning artifacts, and a few kites.  Posted by Picasa
